Following on from a rather successful
survey taken in January 2007, from girls living in Point, aged between 5
and 10, a public meeting was held where it was felt that there was
sufficient demand to further the proposal of the set up of Rainbows and
Brownies in Point.

Since August 2007,
Brown Owl Michaela Smith, has been leading the 7-9 year olds along with her
Snowy Owl, Debbie McClemmants.
Weekly sessions
run on a Thursday afternoon (term time) at Bayble School.

Julie Leslie and
Cath Fish are now enthusiastically leading the younger Rainbow sessions on
the same afternoon as Brownies,
Thursday afternoon (term time)
At Bayble
School, Point.
I would like to thank our four new leaders
and parent rota volunteers from the outset for giving up their time to
contribute towards successful, fun filled times ahead for Rainbows and
Brownies within Point. Much appreciated.

Michaela plans to
allow a period of ‘settling in’ as Brownie leader before embarking on the
girls of Guiding age in Point
We will keep you
informed of developments.
There are indeed a number of girls of
guiding age who will be able to attend the Brownie sessions locally, but
will be classed as ‘lone’ guides. They
will link up with other Guides within the islands at various times
throughout the guiding year for sessions/camps, as and when these occur.
